You plan to spend 3 days mingling, learning, and gathering ideas at the SMX West conference. You have plans to download the presentations, network at the nightly events, and will have tons of stats and ideas to take back to the office. There’s no way you can get more out of SMX West, right?
Let’s face it, there will be some great bits in all those presentations, but a lot of it will not address your challenges. It won’t tell you how many companies did it, and more importantly, how they got other people in the organization for it.
Well, hold on to your seat! We have a way to fill in those holes and take all that information to the next level with The In-house SEO Exchange. Stick around for one more day – let’s talk about the difference that one extra day will make.
There is an event unique to in-house SEOs on March 14 - that’s right, it’s in-house SEOs only. It’s not your average sit there, listen, and take notes in-between checking emails as speakers ramble on sort of event. This is a hands-on, get dirt under your nails as you dig deep into your unique issues and emerge with real, actionable items event. It’s the event where you can really explore what other companies are doing, what has worked for them, and how they have gotten through those barriers you are facing now. Bring your long laundry list of questions, because they become the agenda. You set it, not the organizers. Even better – you can talk further about the things you learned at the conference, and take those learnings to higher levels by combining the brainpower of a room full of in-house SEOs willing to open-the-kimono and talk about anything and everything.
We hand-select the best SEOs in the industry to act as your tour guide across the ever-changing SEO terrain. I know you are biting at the bit to know who they are so…

Remember how we told you that you would drive the agenda? Well, it is true. Each event is unique and different because no two people bring the same problems and questions. This is why people attend the event year-after-year. So while we do not have the agenda broken down by topic, we do have an outline of how you can expect the event to go.
Meet the group for bevvies and chat at a casual meet-and-greet during happy hour. Get to know each other and make new allies, or catch up with old friends. Maybe even strategize your plan of attack for tomorrow.
8:00 – 8:30: Registration (and Breakfast!)
Bring your coffee and get ready to dig in… to both breakfast and the day!
8:30 – 9:00: Breakfast and Parameters for Success
Enjoy breakfast during the introduction to the In-house SEO Exchange, along with the ground rules for participating in the Exchange (Hey, if we’re going to be open at this event, we have to set some parameters for its success!).
9:00 – 10:00: SEO and Where it Hurts
Everyone has SEO pain points in their organization. In this session, attendees have an opportunity to discuss specifically where SEO is failing for them and find others in the group who are fighting the same fights, and have won. It’s the perfect compliment to SMX West. Those without execution challenges can team up to talk about what they learned at SMX West, and take the concepts to the next level.
10:15 – 11:00: Valuable Input from your In-house SEO Peers
Wondering what other people are doing, and how they’re doing it? In this session, you’ll get to hear from in-house SEOs who are in the trenches and have already solved the most pressing challenges. Learn what works, and what doesn’t, so that you leave with specific actions you can implement immediately. It’s a fireside chat, ask any question, get answers from leading in-house SEOs.
11:00 – 12:00: Link Building Confessional
Links are always a hot topic and a challenge for most sites, but they are easier to get if you know what works and what doesn’t. We’ll spend the entire hour talking about links, (including the good, the bad, and the ugly) to get realistic solutions that are being implemented by your in-house peers.
12:00 – 1:00: Networking Lunch
1:00 – 5:00: SEO In-house Vault: Real SEO Strategies & Successes that You’re Not Discussing Publicly
This is where the magic of the In-house SEO Exchange happens. It’s called a vault because it’s when we get down to serious and productive SEO exchange, pull down the walls, and the group’s confidentiality agreement begins so that everyone can talk candidly and ask questions about real world strategies that are working (and not working). The best way to describe this session is through the Japanese expression “Open the Kimono”, which means to drop all pretense, speak openly, honestly, lay it all on the table, and expect others to do the same. This session is where you’ll get real solutions that are actually being implemented successfully by companies doing In-house SEO, right now.
5:00 – Workshop
Unfortunately the workshop is over and many have planes to catch. But that doesn’t mean the In-house SEO Exchange stops there. You will leave this with new allies and friends who you can ring up with questions or just to say hi… even months later.
Thinking you can catch updates and get the highlights later over social media? Think again. What happens at the exchange is reserved exclusively for the attendees and goes into a vault only accessible by them. The only way to be a part of all this is to be there. Don’t worry, you haven’t missed out… Yet. There is still time to reserve your seat for the In-house SEO Exchange at SMX West.
