In-house SEO Is 80% selling, and 20% doing SEO. This means that you really need to nail the selling fundamentals. One key aspect of that is the elevator pitch, your 15-second description of what you do and the value you add.
Exercise:
Stop for a moment think about if you find yourself alone in an elevator with the CEO and he asks, "what you do you do for the company?" What would you say? How are you going to make your mark in his memory? You have one shot, so make it memorable.
Here's a sample:
"There are a lot of people in the world going to Google and searching for our products and services, typing in thousands of different phrases. It's my job to get our website at the top of search engines whenever anyone in the world searches in Google for anything that has to do with what we offer."
